Contemporary country house in the Alpilles montains

Info

From darkness into light... this sums up the extension and conversion project taken on by the proud owners.

The aim of the complete conversion was to transform a farmhouse that was originally divided up, closed and with ceiling heights deemed too low, by opening the place up to create a transparent relationship between inside and out, and between the rooms.

A dark floor (natural stone) was laid between adjoining rooms to extend and undergird the sense of space created. The ceilings and walls were whitewashed to let the lovingly selected furniture and objects serve as decoration and create an atmosphere that invites you to sit back and relax.

Mas contemporain dans les Alpilles : croquis

A few original creations, like some of the lamps, provide the customised finishing touches to this beautiful summer house.

The garden has also been transformed with light-filled areas creating new opportunities to enjoy the Alpilles landscape and revive the relationship between inside and outside areas through new large openings and intermediary areas where people can gather (under the arbour or plane tree...)
